LESSON FROM CATAPULT...

Lost in a deep thought, I was actually having my quiet time. I heard a knock on my door and reluctantly rose to see who is at the door.

It was naughty friend of mine, he actually came to summon me to go 'hunting' with him. 'Hunting?' I chorused in discomfort. I initially knew his visit will bring make me feel uncomfortable. I yelled at him to let me be, but he couldn't let go of me. He insisted we had a little of child's play.

I concurred, I was wondering how the hunting adventure would be because I don't have a taste of it during my childhood. Soon, I grew interest. I got dressed and followed him joyfully.

We wandered through the lonely path until we got to a big tree with varieties of birds dwell. He brought out a catapult and aimed it at a bird. The stone hits the target. He taught me how to do the same and I was able to bring four birds down.

On our way home after the hunting adventure, my instincts kept asking me "WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM YOUR HUNTING ADVENTURE?" I began to wonder if there is any lesson at all, something just flashed through my mind asking "what do you observe when you handled the catapult?"

Wow! The lesson became obvious, I remembered that THE CATAPULT WAS PULLED BACKWARD BEFORE SUCCESSFUL MOVING FORWARD TO HIT ITS TARGET.

LESSON OUTLINE

• I came to realise that, the catapult thought a much needed lesson about life. The basis of the lesson is that, THINGS WILL SEEMS DIMINISHING, DETERRIORATING, MOVING BACKWARD BUT THE MORE YOU FAILED/MOVE BACKWARD IN YOUR ENDEAVORS THE GREATER YOUR CHANCES OF HITTING YOUR TARGET IN LIFE.

• NO MATTER HOW LIFE PUSH YOU BACKWARD THE GREATER YOUR CHANCES OF PRESSING FORWARD AND REACHING THE TOP SOMEDAY.

JONAH MUST GO....!!!

Devil is a liar! This article is actually one of the messages I am preparing into an audio format, but this stupid men - Satan and his host turned things another way round but I am trusting God for a new strategy. Am sure of one thing, its not over until it is over! I am pretty sure your first impression about this piece is the Nigeria Current President, Goodluck Jonathan. But I must tell you, I am not supporting him neither do I try to antagonize him. But I am actually refer to the negativity journeying with you.

Let quickly observe these bible verses;

"11 They said to him, "What will we do about you so that the sea will become calm around us?" (The sea was continuing to rage.)

12 He said to them, "Pick me up and hurl me into the sea! Then the sea will become calm around you......"(Jonah 1:11-12 (CEB))

Here, we can observe a disastrous journey of Jonah, the son of Amittai and some men. Jonah is one hazardous object journeying with this men. He is a setback in their journey, he is the chaos dining and wining with them.

I am telling you this moment, there is/are somebody/some people journeying with you that will bring chaos to your life, there is/are somebody/some people journeying with you that can destroy God's plan for your life, these people are capable of ruining your present and destroying your future. They are often people you call 'your friends'.

There are Jonah-type of friends you keep that will terminate your future, kill the guts in your and demolish your self-worth. They are friends indulging you into what displease your Creator; drug addiction, night partying, smoking, premarital sex, Cultism...Name them!

They are friends who turn minor crisis in your life into a major setback, they are friends that destroys the You in You. They are friends who give you confident to indulge in various vices but turn their back against you when you lands into trouble. Friends who don't talk about your aspirations and how they can help you achieve them. Friends who would not take you to libraries rather, night clubs, cinema house and pubs. Friends who will not help you smile in distress and gives you courage when things seems turning upside down. They are simply THE JONAH JOURNEYINY WITH YOU IN THE JOURNEY OF YOUR LIFE.

What should you do?

"7 Meanwhile, the sailors said to each other, "Come on, let’s cast lots so that we might learn who is to blame for this evil that’s happening to us." They cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah."(Jonah 1:7)"

The Contemporary English Version of the bible said;"Finally, the sailor got rogether and said, 'Let's ask our gods to show us who caused this trouble. Its turned out to be Jonah."(Jonah 1:7 (CEV)) Now, cast lots according to the CEB or ask God according to the CEV or I can advise you to consult your instinct, which of the company you keep is simply The Jonah In Your Life... If you discover him/her or them. The only thing you should do is; "11 They said to him, "What will we do about you so that the sea will become calm around us?" (The sea was continuing to rage.) 12 He said to them, "Pick me up and hurl me into the sea! Then the sea will become calm around you. I know it’s my fault that this great storm has come upon you." 13 The men rowed to reach dry land, but they couldn’t manage it because the sea continued to rage against them. 14 So they called on the LORD, saying, "Please, LORD, don’t let us perish on account of this man’s life, and don’t blame us for innocent blood! You are the LORD: whatever you want, you can do. " 15 Then they picked up Jonah and hurled him into the sea, and the sea ceased its raging."(Jonah 1:11-15 (CEB) )

Not until Jonah was hurled into the sea, the sea never ceased raging. Not until you let go of those Jonah-type of friends, 'your life will not experience a new thing and turnaround'

Don't hesitate, hurl them into the sea. Let go of these Jonah-type of friends before they ruin your future.

Please, after reading this piece, take a quick deep reflection and observe the company you keep. HURL THE JONAHS INTO THE SEA NOW.......!!!!!! THE JONAHS MUST GO.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IRONY OF LIFE: SIMPLY STEP-BY-STEP

It was a remarkable day indeed, that day I reluctantly go out with a friend. I total oblivious of the fact that I was actually going on 'an adventure of discover". Virtually, to discovery AN IMPORTANT IRONY OF LIFE. I have learned something mind blowing and worth giving a thought about life. I called this an irony because this fact remain in dark to many.

My discovery of this irony started when my friend and I was about climbing a stairs upward. My first impression was get to the apartment before her. I climbed the first three stair hierarchically. On getting to the third one, I just thought of making it faster, I tends to skip the fourth slab of the stairs to the fifth, but to my utmost surprise, I found my self on the floor. "Out of the stairs completely" like being back to 'square-one'.

I rose up from the ground feeling humiliated as my friend laughed at me. The first lesson that struck my mind was "GREAT HASTE EQUALS GREAT WASTE". But the main lesson my instinct want to teach me was "THE JOURNEY OF LIFE IS A GRADUAL PROCESS, THE ADVENTURE TO THE TOP IN LIFE IS A GRADUAL PROCESS WHERE YOU CAN'T SKIP A STEP. YOU MUST FUFILL ALL RIGHTOUSNESS, IF YOU DON'T, YOU FIND YOURSELF ON THE GROUND BEING TRAMPLED UPON MY LIFE AND ITS NEGATIVE ALLIES."

Listen, everything in life entails taking a step. If you take a wrong one you're simply invite a fall to beneath in life. Take every step gradually and carefully, Slow and Steady wins the race!
